About Cedarville University

Cedarville University is a private, independent Baptist, Evangelical Christian university located in Cedarville, which is a village in Greene County, in the US state of Ohio, with a population estimated at a number of nearly 4000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.

Cedarville University was officially established in 1887, and its motto is `Pro Corona et Foedere Christi`, which means `For the Crown and Covenant of Christ`. The first classes were held in 1892, but the institution did not open its doors until 2 years later.

Since its founding, the university has continuously grown, today offering its students a number of 8 undergraduate degrees in over 100 fields of study, as well as 73 undergraduate degree programs in areas such as liberal arts, professional sciences, and theological studies.

Athletics

Cedarville's athletic teams are known as the Yellow Jackets, which compete in NAIA, NCCAA, and AMC, in 16 sports for both men and women. The university has recently applied and received admission to NCAA Division II.

The distinctive colors of the Yellow Jackets are blue and gold.
